How to photograph feelings

Posted on Jun 13th, 2006 by Craig Photography : Create, Compassion, Service, Photog Craig Photography

Do not think about cropping think about composing

Photograph the light first and the subject second

When photographing close-ups frame your subject first and then take two steps closer to the subject: then take that picture.

Negative space and positive space are your friends

Color saturation, think about it.

The phrase "I'll fix it in Photoshop" is poor compositional skills.

I like to use the phrase: “Oh! Photoshop is gonna make that look really hot!”

Still be cool to do a trans-disciplinary pod on ‘Composition.’

Could even take principles of Composition as applied to photography and apply them to life:
e.g. How do you properly frame your lover, your child, your friends, the world? Can you compose (rest, relaxed, at ease, content also, eh?) your perspective of the world in such a way that you are able to reflect the ‘essence of things’ to others?

Can you compose notes and images in such a way that only Beauty reigns supreme?

If so, how do you do that? How do you compose such a life?

Do we focus on the Light first… and then the subject??? ; o )=
